Friday the 14th: Valentine's Day Special

Hello! Happy Valentine's Day! Since I've been working the whole day and didn't have time to 'date' (well as if I have one! lol) I thought of just writing something for you. I do hope you'll enjoy this special treat. Told you it's SS month :) - Ella xx

VDay with Mr. B

There were things in life that I‘d never thought I would enjoy again. Being a single woman had a lot of perks, well, you’d never know unless you had gotten married and divorced. Even if mine only lasted not more than five years, the transition of my not-so-exciting life went from zero to ten, from simple to lavish. It wasn’t that hard. Especially when you had no choice. When you want to walk outside for a fresh air, it’s like you always have a dog with you even if you want to walk alone. Sawyer and I, we might have established a ‘friendly’ relationship, instead of a boss’ wife-bodyguard, I still had that ultimate wish to be alone sometimes. Well most of the time. One morning, an old lady who owned a newspaper stand just across Grey Publishing’s building thought Sawyer was my husband. Geez, I still find it funny after a few years. So when Christian came to pick me up one afternoon, she thought I was having an affair. Seriously.

God, imagine Christian’s face when she pointed a finger at him and said “Leave her alone! She’s already married!” After showing our wedding bands, the poor old lady finally backed off and never, even once, greeted me again. See, that’s one of the things I never liked in having a personal security. Some women find it so great to be treated like a VIP, but not me. I’d rather have a less complicated life that I could walk around without a constant shadow following my every step.

I get that it’s for security purposes because I was married to a billionaire, but it would never be my style.

So, strolling around the park alone on this one sunny day, placed a silly grin on my face. It’s so nice to have a ‘me time’. I could stay here for hours, enjoying the quiet area of the place and watch people do their own thing. There were a few couples walking hand in hand, some women carrying bouquet of flowers. I had noticed most of them, actually, with matching lovey-dovey vibes around them. I wonder why that is.

I loved my Ted and I would miss him the whole weekend, but I knew he’s totally excited to spend time with his Grandpa Carrick and Grandma Grace. Just thinking about my son put a double smile on my face.

People must be thinking you’re going cray-cray smiling all by yourself, Steele.

Speaking of smiles and all, make it a triple smile after I heard the familiar beep of my phone. A text message.

Hi, beautiful. Dinner with me tonight? – Mr. B

No, scratch that triple smile. Make it quadruple or more. Is that even possible? Well, yes according to the butterflies in my stomach. Glancing around, I noticed a couple of kids looking at me with odd expressions. Oops, they really think I’ve lost it! I gave them a small wave and turned around and found an empty bench. It was best to seat down and calm myself first. I quickly typed down a reply.

Aren’t you on duty, Officer? – Ana x

Didn’t I tell you before? For you, my lady, I’m always on duty. Mr. B ;)

Now why did that make me feel giddy and had to steady myself? Geez, I so wanted to kick myself for acting like a virginal teenager. Rolling my eyes, I typed in my response with shaky hands.

Oh my, Officer. I didn’t know I’m such a trouble maker. – Ana x

A trouble maker, yes. I can’t get you out of my head, not even for a second. Huge distraction, you know. – Mr. B

Should I stop being such a ‘distraction’ to you then? Ana xx

Hell the fuck no. – Mr. B

Haha. I missed you this morning. – Ana x

You didn’t open your eyes, but you did open your legs and screamed my name if I remember. - Mr. B

I didn’t! – Ana x

I can still taste you, my sweet Ana.. I can’t wait for more. – (rock hard) Mr. B

Hate you. Danny’s? – Ana x

No you don’t. My place. I’m cooking. – Mr. B

Okay. See you later. – Ana xx

Okay, I had to get my ass off here before someone could come and placed me to a mental institution. Blushing in the middle of a park, all alone? Standing up, I shook my head.

Well, there you go. Another reason of my heavenly mood today—waking up to a mind blowing orgasm, courtesy of my Mr. Boxers’ wicked tongue. I was so spent that I didn’t get to open my eyes to see him off after he kissed me goodbye. And he didn’t just give me a big O, he also prepared my favorite breakfast. Who wouldn’t love the guy?

I had another text, this time from Tiffany. I was meeting her and Cameron at the bakeshop where we first met. I would have never thought of finding such good friends in my new home.

“Looks like someone is in love.” Tiff said and I just rolled my eyes at her.

“Ana dear, you are glowing!” Cam muttered on my other side.

“Those innocent blue eyes can’t hide the ‘I-got-shagged-so-freaking-good’ look, Steele.”

Cam sighed. “Oh, I am so jelly. Wish I have my own Gavin.” I think that’s the tenth time he said that.

“Tell us his best performance yet!” Oh god.

“Hold on! Let me get my extra panties just in case things get… hot.” Tiff and I exchanged a look then glanced at Cam who was digging through his messenger bag. He’s serious!

We both burst out laughing, drawing the attention of some customers from the nearby table. “Camy,” Tiff, wiping a tear and laughed again, “stop with the illusion please.”

“What? Can’t a simple girl dream?” Oh geez. These two were just hilarious.

“Simple girl? Dream on. Please don’t kill the mood. I don’t want to picture you again wearing girly panties!” We both laughed again.

“Okay! Fine. Now back to the main topic.” Cam turned to me and so did Tiff. “Yeap, we need the gory details, pronto!”

“You two… This is a public place.” I sipped my tea, trying to change the subject. There’s no way I would broadcast my sex life in a bake shop.

“Come on, Ana!” Tiff pouted while Cam sighed dramatically.

“How about over a few drinks tonight? Wine or Tequila?” I suggested.

Tiff looked at Cam for a second and it was not hard to miss she’s passing some kind of a secret message. “What?” I asked.

“Err, I think you already have a plan tonight.” Cam hesitantly said but avoided any eye contact.

“Gavin will come home for dinner but he’s not staying since he’s working double tonight.”

Just then, we heard a squeal from a woman behind me and we all both turned to see what it was about. There’s a guy on one knee carrying a bouquet of red roses and a box of Godiva chocolates on the other hand.

“Of course, I forgive you.” She said. Then the guy swept her up for a long kiss and asked something I failed to hear because of Cam’s loud shriek.

“That’s so sweet.” He muttered with a complete dreamy look.

“What’s with today? I keep seeing flowers everywhere.”

The two just shrugged and somewhat occupied themselves by checking their phones. Something isn’t right, Steele.

“So, are you up for drinks tonight?” I asked again. But before either of them could answer, a man in uniform suddenly appeared at my side. He’s huge, complete with that dark and dangerous vibe.

”Ms. Ana Steele?” I looked up at him, frowning.

“Yes?”

“This is for you.” From his back, he handed me a single red rose.

My frown deepened and raised a questioning eyebrow at him. “Sorry, Officer. I think you—

He just smiled—whoa—making him dangerously attractive, and placed the red rose closer and I felt Cam pushing me to get it.

“Oh, thank you.” I said and automatically inhaling it’s scent.

“You have a lovely day.” He nodded and left.

What was that about? I glanced back at Tiff and Cam who both were wearing secret smiles. “Did you know that guy?”

“Nope.” Said Tiff. “You have an admirer?” She asked with a teasing smile.

“I don’t even know that man. I have never seen him with Gavin either.”

“Oh! We have to go now, Fany.” Cam stood up, almost spilling his unfinished coffee.

“Hey, what’s in a hurry?” It’s still early. Tiff followed and pulled me up. “Do you have somewhere to go?” I was looking forward to spend more time with them.

“Yeap. I have a date.” She winked at me as we head out of the bake shop.

“Date with whom?” I asked curiously.

“With me.”

I turned to look at Cam, who was grinning like a Cheshire cat as he linked his arm with Tiff’s. Wait, what?

“We have a date tonight, so we can’t come later for drinks.” I didn’t hide my disappointment.

“Can’t I join?” I gave them the puppy look.

“Nope.” Tiff said, popping the p. “You won’t want us there.” There was the secret-teasing smile again.

“I would be alone tonight, I mentioned that right?” No Teddy. No Gavin. And now no Tiff and Cam too. Hello loner, Ana.

“Trust us, you won’t” And with that, they both kissed my cheeks and waved goodbye.

There was something fishy with the way the two was acting. Maybe they were going to surprise me? Maybe Tiff hired a stripper? Oh no. What was the occasion for them to surprise me anyway? I was positively sure they knew my birthday is in September. Sighing, I wrapped my gray cardigan around me and started to walk home.

As I round the corner, I noticed the flower stand where Ted got almost hit by a motorbike. If not for Gavin, he might had been seriously injured like broken bones or worse than that. I shuddered at that thought. I could kiss my hot cop as many times as he wanted for saving my baby boy. As I get nearer, I was stopped by a little blonde girl who I guessed was around five to six years old. Cutie. She was clutching a medium sized doll in her left arm and a red rose on the other hand.

“Miz Ana?” She asked, looking at me through her long lashes.

“Yes?” Now, how did she know my name?

“For you.” And she handed me the red rose and quickly ran toward the woman who I assumed owned the flower stand. When I tried to ask her about the rose, she just simply smiled and shook her head. Oookay, this is getting weirder.

I quickly found my phone and dialed Tiffany, because I was sure it could be one of their pranks. It went straight to voicemail and when I tried Cam’s, it was the same. Geez, those two!

I knew it. It was impossible that she didn’t recognize the cop who gave me the first red rose. She mentioned about being close with the guys at the station, with the exception of Gavin being new in the city. Should I hunt down those two? Where did they go? I glanced at my wrist watch and cringed, it was almost six. Crap. Gavin should be home any minute. Making up my mind that hunting Tiff and Cam could wait another day, I walked faster. My half-human half-machine boyfriend didn’t have a lot time since he was being superman again by working double shifts even on the weekend. Though this was the first. Maybe he was covering another officer again.

I walked past Al’s bookstore but when I heard his voice, I turned around and found him walking toward me. I smiled and was about to say hi when he produced another single red rose. Oh my.

“For you, beautiful Ana.” He smiled at me, in a fatherly way.

“Thank you, Al.” I said and he walked back to the bookstore.

I looked down at the three red roses and continued walking because I didn’t know what to think anymore. I got totally confused when I received more roses from random people; most were familiar faces I usually bump into whenever I walk to Teddy’s day care center.

Even the doorman from the apartment was all smiles but didn’t say anything when he handed me another red rose. I was in dazed that I just found myself in front of Gavin’s door.

I was about to unlock it with the key he gave me when I noticed it was already unlocked. Gavin’s here? I pushed the door open and gasped at what I saw.

Oh my god.

The living room was nowhere to be seen. Instead of the couch and the coffee table, there was a black Japanese futon mattress with white floor cushions in the middle of the carpeted floor. The scented candles were scattered on the either side of the mattress, which were the only lighting, filling the place with sweet florals and subtle vanilla. The other furniture in the room was also gone, including his flat screen TV. He transformed his place into a romantic haven. Oh my.

Gavin was standing just a few feet away from me, barefoot and looking so incredibly hot in his signature white v-neck shirt and rugged jeans. Simply delectable. He was looking at me intently, his light blue eyes searching my face for any reaction.

I was lost for words that he must have mistaken my silence as a sign of rejection. He looked suddenly nervous and took a step forward. “Ana, I’m sorry if this is too much—

“Sshh.” I placed a finger on his lips then cupped his stubbled jaw. “You did this for me?”

He leaned into my touch and pulled me closer. “Happy Valentine’s Day?” He whispered, sounding embarrassed and unsure.

Oh geez. Valentine’s Day! Why didn’t I notice?

I let out a small laugh. “That’s what this is all about!” I lifted my arm full of red roses.

“You don’t like them?”

“I love them.” I said, kissing his chin. “Thank you. I was just clueless why everyone was giving me flowers today. Are Tiff and Cam involved in this?”

“They helped me set this up.” He gestured around the room. “I didn’t know what to do and I wanted to make this special for you. If this is too much, I can—

“Hey,” I said, trying to get his full attention, “I love it. I love everything. I was just surprised and at a loss for words. I didn’t expect this. I don’t know what to say.”

“You don’t have to.”

“I thought you’re working tonight? Don’t tell me…”

He smiled that boyish smile, wagging his eyebrows at me. “Part of the plan.”

I rolled my eyes at him and playfully pushed him away.

After revealing his grand Vday plan, including how he talked to those who gave me the red roses, he showed me the Valentine’s card with three red roses that was from my baby boy. He said they did it the other night, well mostly Ted, and that my son gave strict orders to deliver it safely to me. I love you too, Ted. And at that moment, I didn’t stop the happy tears that fell from my eyes.

Gavin carefully put our plates with the trey aside after I devoured his Valentine’s Day special dinner. He prepared crispy rack of lamb with honey and mascarpone and spinach and mushroom ravioli as the side dish. Fancy five star restaurants? Move aside bitches, I have my personal hot chef in here. And he matched the special dinner with Lemon Raspberry Fizz. Perfect.

“Champagne?” I asked, after taking a sip of the drink. Oh god, it was so good!

He shrugged. “I didn’t want to ruin the menu by serving a beer.”

I giggled at that. “Wine is okay. And besides, I would drink it even if you handed me a bottle of beer.”

“Like what I’ve said, I want to make this special for you.” He moved closer and switched our position as I was now straddling his hips with his hands on my waist. “Before, I just order random flowers and chocolates on Valentine’s for my Mom, Georgia and…” He didn’t finish it and there was no need to. Freaking ex-girlfriends. “I’ve never really thought about doing anything aside from the norm. But last week, when one of the guys mentioned his plans for his girl today, you were the first thing that came to my mind. I wanted to do something. I know you must have received tons of flowers from before…” Hearts and Flowers by the one and only Christian Grey. “so I thought of doing something different.”

My heart pounded through my chest as he tightened his grip on me and looked me straight in the eyes. “I can’t give you the world and all the flowers in it, so all I can offer you is me.”

As I gazed into his eyes, I knew without a doubt he was way better than any other gifts I’d received before. I wouldn’t be surprised if my heart would explode any second because of the things he was making me feel. The warm, fuzzy feeling brought by his touch and comfort of his manly scent were like drugs that I couldn’t get enough.

“Gavin,” I placed my champagne glass aside and took his face on both hands. “I only want you. I don’t need the world and the fancy flowers… All I want is right here with me. You.”

He crashed his lips into mine, pouring everything into the kiss. My arms went instinctively went around him, meeting his tongue with the same fervor and desire. The heady mixture of his warm breath tinged with the sweetness of the champagne and raspberry, his soft wet lips upon mine was enough to make me burn for him, wanting more of him.

He slowly pulled away, and pressed our foreheads together. “Ana.” He whispered, gently running his nose against mine. “You taste so sweet.”

I kissed the side of his mouth, trailing down to his jaw and neck. I cupped his face, enjoying the rough feeling of his stubble as I nibbled on his lower lip. “You’re my valentine gift?”

He groaned when I sucked his earlobe. “Yes.”

“I can do anything I want?” I ran my hands to his shoulder, down to his muscled chest and hard abs then stopped when I felt the hem of his shirt.

“Anything.” He kissed me again then he pulled his shirt off. “I’m all yours.”

  1. That was so sweet. Valentines day always seems the same, flowers, chocolates and diamonds. This was so different, and filled with love and thought. Gavin is such a sweetheart, I can't believe he even got other people involved for the surprise. Wonderful Valentine's surprise for us. Thank you.

  2. I loved it! Loved it! Loved it!!! Turned me into a mushy lovey dovey mess. Having Tiff, Cam, another officer, Al, all involved to give Ana the perfect valentine's night was so thoughtful and such a unique cute way to lead up to dinner and a night alone. Makes my heart ache when Gavin compares himself to Christian, that he thinks he can't give Ana the things Christian could, but wow, I'd prefer this than jewelry and over the top plans. The card from Ted was just adorable and Gavin helping him make it just makes the day all the more special. I need my own Mr. B for valentine's day next year!!
